  Cat's leg amputated after airgun shooting! In Caernarvon in Wales Sparky was discovered having been shot in his right thigh which was shattered. Sadly the leg had to be amputated but Sparky recovered at home. Another sad case of historical 'cat attack' .   Can cats develop a form of 'super-vision'. There is a theory among cat behaviourists that the domestic cat has lost its once acute sense of hearing. This was perfected in the wild to listen for prey and danger now the domesticated cat has little fear of attack may have rewired its brain to compensate and developed this super sight. Deaf cats are known to have an enhanced ability to observe moving objects. The findings of the Centre for Brain and Mind at the University of Western Ontario has researched the possibilities and Professor Lomber has said 'The (cat) brain wants to compensate for the lost sense with enhancement.'   Hissing 'Patch' is our black and white stray who has a lot of likeness with Tiggr in 'The Tenth Life' he is certainly aggressive hisses a lot but underneath is a soft touch. Why do cats hiss- just to frighten off an enemy and it largely works. Some say they are copying a snake who does the same before an attack but I think it more than likely something that has evolved with cats and is a sound they can physically make and is terrifying.
